Its mission and vision is reflected in the “European Community Pharmacy Blueprint”*. Jan Smits is one of the initiators of this document which sets out vision for greater use of community pharmacists competences in health care.
Jan Smits studied Pharmacy at the University of Utrecht. He has 12 years of experience in the national and international marketing of medicines and provision of business services with Glaxo and Yamanouchi Europe and 12 years of experience in managing a group of pharmacies. From 2008 until 2013 he was the President of the Royal Dutch Pharmacists Association and Member of the Board of MKB, the national organization for small and medium-sized enterprises. In 2014 he was appointed Vice President PGEU.
