In 1993, Jenke finished his undergraduate study in econometrics at University of Groningen. After a break of one year due to military service, he continued his educational career by obtaining a PhD at Tilburg University in 1998. He became lecturer at the department of finance at Tilburg University, and was highly involved in many applied research projects. He taught various courses at different levels, such as Finance 1 for undergraduate programs, Option Theory, and Applied Finance and Investment Management at master level.
At TiasNimbas, Jenke was mainly involved in the master of Finance, where he taught modules in investments, and behavioral finance. In 2002, Jenke visited the Robert H. Smith Business School in Maryland for a research sabbatical. In 2004, Jenke became Associate Professor and a member of the departmental management team. He was a member of the university council for a period of almost three years. In 2009, Jenke was appointed as full professor of Finance, and a few months later, he became Vice-Dean of Education at Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM). In this position, he was responsible for developing and introducing a new didactical concept (Research Based Learning) in all programs offered at TiSEM. In 2013, he left TiSEM for a position as Vice-Dean at TiasNimbas Business School.
