Together the three universities of technology in Delft, Eindhoven and Twente offer two-year technological designer’s programmes, which are coordinated in the 3TU.School for Technological Design, Stan Ackermans Institute. These PDEng programmes offer trainees the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and experience by means of a personal and practical design assignment, under the supervision of experienced scientific design professionals. As is common with PhD candidates, also PDEng trainees are employed by the university where they are located and receive a salary during their training.
